ANTOINE, Dominique  and  AMARAL, Wagner Roberto do. Haitian migrants in youth and adult education in Brazil. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2022, vol.28, e44846.  Epub Dec 05, 2022. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.26512/lc28202244846.

This qualitative research aims to analyze the intentions and expectations of Haitian migrants in the Education of Youth and Adult (EJA) in Brazil, municipality of Cambé, Paraná. Data show that the initial motivations of students to attend the EJA program are: to learn Portuguese language, get an international degree, and afford a free tuition study. Two profiles of these students are identified in the EJA: the students who recently arrive in Brazil seeking to learn Portuguese and those who expect to have a longer stay in Brazil while aspiring to complete their high school with the goal to get a college degree allowing them a social ascension.
