This paper analyzes the implementation of the National Common Curricular Basis (BNCC), regarding to the subject of History, in two municipal schools in Rio de Janeiro, considering the alignment of the curriculum prepared by the Municipal Secretary of Education of Rio de Janeiro (SME/RJ). We used the framework of Political Science which analyzes ambiguities and conflicts in implementation contexts, in qualitative research, involving documental analysis and interviews with implementing agents. It was observed that the BNCC presented a context of political implementation while the Carioca Curriculum presented a context of experimental implementation (Matland, 1995).
