The essay recovers the bibliographical productions produced between the years 2011 to 2021, with the aim of understanding how affective narratives about teaching in prisons are presented and interpreted. It is observed that the narratives presented by the professors point to certain professional challenges that trigger different emotions and allow us to see the complex and conflicting process of teaching in “classrooms”. In the end, it is argued that investigative efforts about the affective life of teachers can contribute to deepen the understanding of the logic of suffering and pleasure within prison.
