The text presents a Content Analysis in Historical-Critical Pedagogy references on the characteristics of Scientific Knowledge in the teaching of Natural Sciences. The documents express the understanding of reality as objective and knowable, knowledge based on critical realism, with its genesis in intellectualism and criticism, and an externalist conception of science is adopted. In Natural Sciences teaching, the discussion about truth criteria and the science-society relationship is valued, which may be related to the positivist influence in this field. It was observed that the foundations of basic theories are implicit, reinforcing the need to study these elements.
