Discussing education implies debating its relationship with dignity because education and dignity are historical constructions or assurances of rights. From this point of view, the present work aims to make a brief reflection on education, whose assumption has to think of an efficient and effective systemic organization for education. It is a complex task from the theoretical and practical point of view, and in this sense it is always necessary to turn our attention to the regulatory frameworks of the process of formulating educational policies. From a qualitative research perspective, as a methodological path, we will make a theoretical reflection, based on the Brazilian constitutions. Considering that education, under the terms of the 1988 Brazilian Federal Constitution, is a subjective public right and, as such, an indispensable condition for the exercise of citizenship. We address issues related to items enshrined in this Constitution, including guarantees of the right to education and respect for human dignity, and we will also point out the importance of people's participation in decision-making processes, in the formulation of public policies, in the execution of programs and projects of collective interest and in the enjoyment of their results in a decentralized manner. We conclude by mentioning that the State must realize the realization of the right to education as a human right conquered by a community, the fruit of a long and arduous struggle.
