The social inclusion is considered as a process that assures to the ones who are in risk of poverty and social exclusion have opportunities and resources enough to participate in the cultural, economic and social life; in order to enjoy a pattern of life and well-being state considered as normal in society where they live in. The goal of this research is to analyze how the process of social inclusion happens with African and Latin-American students in the Ministro Petrônio Portella campus, in Teresina, Piauí State, Brazil. Also to identify the factors that could cause problems during the social inclusion process, for example, the social representations that Brazilian students have about African and Colombian students. Thus, it is explored how the social inclusion process in the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI) is developed. Aiming to reach this goal, we reviewed some authors, such as, Gomes (2008), Rocha (1990), Sousa Santos (2008) and Subuhana (2007), among others, which assist us to approach social inclusion in superior education. The methodology based on semi structured interviews with African and Latin-American students from UFPI; using the analytic procedure as the analysis of content. Therefore, we concluded that the social inclusion process faces difficulties due to foreign students suffer for not knowing the language, unknown the methodology and the need to adapt themselves to a new culture.
