Democratic management has become one of the most frequent themes in debates, reflections and public initiatives in order to follow up on a principle restored in national legislation. However, the term presents elements with different meanings, which indicates the need for a more consistent treatment of the themes involved in this notion. In this sense, this article aims to analyze the main ideas of democratic management, demarcating their etymological distinctions and rescuing their philosophical perspectives. Finally, we propose a theoretical-methodological framework that can contribute to a deeper analysis of the theoretical and practical concepts of democratic management in the science of education.
