Abstract

LIMA, Iana Gomes de; NOLLI, Maria Angela  and  VOIGT, Jane Mery Richter. The centrality of the family: intersections between guidelines of the Non-Partisan School and the Law 7.595/2018 of the Municipality of Jaraguá do Sul/SC. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2020, vol.14, e72825.  Epub Dec 01, 2021. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v14i0.72825.

The purpose of this article is to present an analysis of the Law 7,595/2018 of the Municipality of Jaraguá do Sul/SC, pointing out the presence of some guidelines of the movement Non-Partisan School (NPS) in the justifications that supported its proposal and approval. The Law 7.595/2018 prohibited education professionals from implementing and developing pedagogical activities in the curriculum that aim to reproduce the concept of gender ideology, sexual orientation and the like. With a qualitative approach and of an interpretative nature, the research included semi-structured interviews with three city councilors, a representative from the religious institution Assembly of God and a representative from the NPS of the municipality of Jaraguá do Sul/SC. The analysis of the data revealed justifications for the proposition and approval of the law based on the resumption of authority and centrality of the family, as well as of morality and Christian values. For the interviewees, it is the role of the school to teach/instruct students, with moral education being the sole responsibility of the families. It appears from the analyzes that the guidelines of the NPS movement are present and support the Jaraguaense law, the result of an increasingly active and consistent conservative movement, endowed with its own nuances and particularities, throughout our country.
