SANTANA, Kamila Lima de  y  MARTINS, Angela Maria. Pedagogical Management System: tensions in the work of pedagogical coordinators of municipal schools. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2020, vol.14, e73486.  Epub 01-Dic-2021. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v14i0.73486.

This article is part of a larger investigation that analyzed a program implemented by the São Paulo Municipal Department of Education called the Pedagogical Management System (PMS). This article aims to discuss uses of a technological resource to (re) organize the work of pedagogical coordinators in the context of daily work in the municipal school system of São Paulo (RME-SP). The theoretical background was anchored in studies that deal with the construction of professional identity and knowledge mobilized in the work of pedagogical coordinators. It is a qualitative and exploratory investigation, which used document analysis, participant observation and comprehensive interview. This article presents and discusses the data produced from comprehensive interviews with pedagogical coordinators from schools in the municipal network of São Paulo. Data analysis reveals that the program brought some contributions to the exercise of the functions of the pedagogical coordinator due to the optimization of the monitoring of the teaching records and possible pedagogical interventions related to diagnosis, planning and evaluation. However, the data also indicate contradictions in the implementation of the program due to the need of its improvement, as well as the improvement of the schools' infrastructure to rationalize and streamline the process of recording, reading and analyzing pedagogical information by teachers and managers.
