Abstract

The article analyzes researches about impact assessment in basic education, with emphasis on its objectives, characteristics and outcomes. The analysis model consisted of three aspects: the policy under analysis, the research carried out and the results found (impact). The results indicated a wide diversity of policies, programs and actions that have been object of the researchers, a variety of methodological procedures for impact assessment and different types of impact on the basic education. The study suggests that more impact assessment researches should be conducted in the field of education and that new methodological approaches should be created.
