This article aims to analyze the global implications of academic capitalism that condition the creation of a type of World Class University. This is a bibliographic and documentary research based on critical- dialectical epistemology. Content analysis was used for data processing. Notwithstanding the notions for entrepreneurship in higher education through public-private partnerships that subsidize the expansion of the private-mercantile sector of higher education through its financialization through investment funds and spoliation of the public fund, new measures seek boosting the dismantling of federal institutions to conform to the New American University standard, which is characterized as the movement to commodify scientific production and private investment in the public sector, thereby seeking the establishment of World Class University.
