The school, as a necessary dimension for social changes, has become an isolated and motionless environment in times of pandemic. The objective of the research was to understand the school organization process and the challenges in the performance of school principals of the municipal public network of Maceió in the context of social isolation, caused by the new coronavirus (COVID-19). The study was carried out through a qualitative approach, using exploratory research as a technique. The application of online questionnaires was used as a collection instruments. The data analysis was based on Content Analysis. The results showed that school managers are developing different activities, mediated by technologies and digital platforms, contributing to the conduction of educational proposals in a collective and democratic construction, having, as a starting point, the appreciation for life and the concern with the well-being of those involved.
