Abstract

MARTINS, Leane Rodrigues et al. "It is very sad, man, to see a child excluded because of 100g!": discretionary decisions in the implementation of an intersectoral policy to reduce child malnutrition. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2022, vol.16, e83554.  Epub May 30, 2023. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v16i0.83554.

The article analyzes access to Child Care Centers in Caxias (CCAICs). They are schools designed to care for children malnourished or at nutritional risk. They provide early childhood education, social assistance and food. This is an intersectoral policy in the municipality of Duque de Caxias / RJ. We observe the weighing of children and the discretionary actions and decisions of school managers, nutritionists and social workers involved in the process. The interactions between professionals and families define the occupation of vacancies, especially when the demand is greater than the supply.

Keywords : intersectoral policy; malnutrition; discretion; children; education.
