Abstract

CARDOSO, Paôla Fortunato  and  MELO, Lúcia de Fátima. The policy of bonus and educational accountability in the municipality of Rio Branco/Acre: Elevation of the Quality of Learning. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2022, vol.16, e83559.  Epub May 30, 2023. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v16i0.83559.

The article presents research results of the master's dissertation in the education of the Post-Graduate Program of the Federal University of Acre (PPGE / UFAC), developed from 2017 to 2019, that focused on the bonus subsidy policy materialized through the Award for The Elevation of The Quality of Learning (PEQ) granted to professionals of the municipal education network of Rio Branco/Acre. The research was based on bibliographic studies, anchored mainly in Ball (2010), Brooke (2006, 2008), Freitas (2012, 2013), Oliveira (2013), Jacomini and Penna (2016), and Shiroma and Evangelista (2011), in document analysis and empirical research. The study may conclude that the results of the research indicate that the bonus policy, implemented through the PEQ, is understood by teachers as a motivation for their work. However, it is also seen as something that, in addition to overloading the teacher with the responsibility of quantitative learning results, regulates the exercise of the profession, removing their autonomy.

Keywords : Educational accountability; Bonus policy; Teaching work; Public network of the municipality of Rio Branco/Acre.
