THEODOROSKI, Etiane Fatima. Appreciation Early Childhood Education professionals and ensuring children's rights: an analysis of the municipality of Petrópolis - RJ in 2019. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2022, vol.16, e84193.  Epub May 30, 2023. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v16i0.84193.

This article aims to analyze the ensuring children’s rights matriculated in daycare, considering the contexts in which education professionals work in the city of Petrópolis in 2019. Specifically, check the number of assistants and teachers in day care centers and preschools, to capture the trend of allocation of professionals according to category; check the assistants and teachers’ formation in day care centers and preschools; check the type of employment relationship. For this analysis, data on professionals working in municipal public day care centers were considered, and for comparison purposes, data on those working in preschool, with the purpose of listing possible inequalities. This is quantitative research, using data from the School Census. The results showed that the younger the child, the less rights are guaranteed, which suggests that there is an inequality in educational assistance between daycare and preschool. The number of assistants is significantly higher than that of teachers in the day care center, mostly professionals who do not even have a normal high school, and, although there is a high percentage of teachers with effective employment, the number of professionals who work with this function in the stage, it is minimal, which indicates that the category is not valued.
