SILVA, João Batista da; LIMA, Marcos Vinicius de Andrade  and  LIRA, Lívia Julyana Gomes Vasconcelos. Profile of teachers in the municipal public school system in Fortaleza. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2022, vol.16, e84852.  Epub May 30, 2023. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v16i0.84852.

Knowing the profile of the teachers of a school, institution, or teaching network is essential to help decision-making in educational management and improve the quality of teaching. In this sense, the purpose of this research was to delineate the profile of teachers of the municipal public network of the city of Fortaleza/Ceará. For this, data from the 2019 School Census were used, which are available on the website of the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira - Inep). We analyzed information from 9330 teachers who worked in the period in which the school census was performed. Statistical analysis was performed using the free software RSstudio and Jasp statistics. The results showed that the majority (81.63%) of the teachers of the municipal public network of Fortaleza are composed of women, the majority are self-declared yellow (48.06%), and have an average age around 41 to 60 years of age. Regarding the employment relationship, the majority (61.59%) of the professors are permanent, and 43.07% have a postgraduate course as the highest level of education. It is worth noting that 41.11% of teachers in the municipal public network of Fortaleza have a specialization course, 1.08% of them have a master's degree, and only 0.87% of them have a doctorate course.
