The article discusses issues related to school management in the context of the Municipal Education System of Rio Branco, capital of the state of Acre, more specifically, the remuneration of school leaders. The documents used are essentially related with the career of the municipal public magisterium and the regulation of the school manager’s remuneration. Besides, subsidies were collected in the Information System about Public Budgets in Education – (Siope), which help to comprehend about the dynamics of the remuneration’s composition. Thus, the analysis indicates for some issues, among which stands out the complexity of the remuneration of school managers, because in this composition are focused several aspects , requiring the articulation of miscellaneous laws to define and understand the values. Furthermore, it was also possible to note that there are disputes for improvements in values, because we identified changes in legislation that have changed some aspects, such as in the case of the remuneration ceiling, which no longer exists. In this sense, it is necessary to highlight the intense variation, because other additional and gratuities of the teaching career also influence the final value. Finally, it is noted that the changes related to the additional management were relevant for the composition of remuneration, as well as this is a discussion that is not exhausted.
