Abstract

NASCIMENTO, Caio Cesar Silva. Analysis of the historical trajectory of Youth and Adult Education in Brazilian educational policies. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2022, vol.16, e87074.  Epub May 30, 2023. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v16i0.87074.

This work brings analyzes about Youth and Adult Education (EJA) in order to reflect on the historicity of educational policies directed to the modality. The advances of EJA arising from struggles of social movements, debates with international organizations and the redemocratization process are discussed. Nevertheless, there is a discussion about the neoliberal advance and the setbacks in social rights, in which educational policies are involved. As analyzed in this research, it is noted that some policies are reaffirmed in the progressive field with due engagement with popular education and the integral formation of subjects, while others have neoliberal characteristics with discourses of restructuring and reforms.
