This research aims to analyze the valuation of teachers, with regard to remuneration, based on the analysis of the decisions of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), since the Direct Action of Unconstitutionality (ADI) n.º 4.167/2011. was carried out through documentary research with a qualitative approach. The methodology used has a qualitative bias and is carried out through documentary research and digital databases. It should be mentioned that the choice of analysis of STF decisions is based on their constitutional nature. The 1988 Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Law nº 11.738/2008 (PSPN Law), Law nº 13.005/2014 (PNE), as well as the decisions of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), were used as documentary sources. from ADI No. 4.167/2011. This study starts from the fact that the appreciation of education professionals is one of the fundamental principles to achieve the objective of a quality education. It should be reiterated that the concept of valuing teachers is not restricted to remuneration, as it is also necessary to pay attention to intellectual training and the constitution of a professional identity. Based on the analysis and verification carried out by this study, the decisions of the STF related to the object of teacher appreciation showed that only control of the payment of the basic salary has been ensured, in order to weaken this policy and the other questions that make up the meaning of teacher appreciation.
