The estudy presents aspects of a field textbook distributed by National Program of Textbooks - Field Area (Programa Nacional do Livro Didático - PNLD Campo), analysing the anthology of New Sunflower: Knowledge and Practices in the Field (Novo Girassol: Saberes e Fazeres do Campos), from elementary school. The field education is recognized as an educational approach, struggling for public policies in education and in the countryside work. Therefore, this approach requires appropriated textbooks in which dialogues with different types of work and rural life. This article introduces the conception about the field and field’s and depicting the contents and the method proposed by them in the elementary school. The methodology is based on bibliographic review, examining the concepts of field and the anthology chosen. The textbook is a tool to organize the education at Field Schools. Then, this discussion contributes for students comprehend their social contexts.
