Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the teacher’s practice in a riverside school context. Participated of this study, a teacher and her students from an amazon school located in the Marajó island in the state of Pará. To collect the data, it was utilized two techniques of the methodology of the qualitative research: the participant observation of the classes (diary notes) and the interviews. The initial conclusions revealed that the teacher’s practice is accomplished in a dissatisfactory way because of the short interaction of the various dynamic systems that constitute the context beside the bad conditions of the school, without educational resources and teacher’s education.
