The purpose of this essay is to study and interpret globalization and the educational situation in Latin America in the global society. It reveals how globalization affects Latin-American history, especially educational history. It reveals how values are socialized in Latin America by the international organizations and, in this context it examines their contribution or intervention in the formulation of public policies and the adoption of educational practices. The theme is relevant, since international cooperation and exchange underline the objectives of Latin American studies in education, as well as the debates over the nature and the effects of globalization in all nations.
