Abstract

ARAUJO, Clarissa Martins de  and  SILVA, Everson Melquíades da. Formação continuada de professores: tendências emergentes na década de 1990. Educação. Porto Alegre [online]. 2009, vol.32, n.03, pp.316-325. ISSN 1981-2582.

We carried out a bibliographic survey, which selected studies that sought to examine existing problems in the ongoing training of teachers in Brazil from the perspective of the current understanding and its different trends and approaches. We identified two major trends that appeared in the 1990’s.: (1) Liberalconservative and (2) Critical-reflective. Our understanding is that in order to raise the quality of teachers’ work, it is essential to take the appropriate measures to make feasible improvements in these teachers’ working conditions, careers and salaries, but above all drive forward the renewal of ongoing training systems, based on the critical-reflective trend.

Keywords : Ongoing Training; Trends in Ongoing Training; Critical-Reflexive and Liberal-Conservative Training.
