BAXTO, Welinton  and  CARNEIRO, Vânia Lúcia Quintão. Use of TIC in higher education at distance. Educação. Porto Alegre [online]. 2019, vol.42, n.1, pp.35-43.  Epub June 10, 2019. ISSN 1981-2582.  https://doi.org/10.15448/1981-2582.2019.1.28389.

This article discusses how the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in distance learning under study has occurred in the period from 2012 to 2016. The methodology applied was the systematic review with data collection through CAPES Portal in different databases. Subsequently, the results were treated using the software StArt3 and analyzed, synthesized and organized by adjacencies of ideas. The analysis concludes that the integration of ICT in distance higher education is happening in a different way and rhythm in institutions. The studies reinforce the need to improve academic performance with the use of ICT, points to the development of the integral competences of teachers, students and academic-administrative staff, as well as the need for new studies focused on the complexities of ICT application in education higher than distance.
