Abstract

In this article, it was aimed at bringing to the debate causes about school dropout and permanence in education under the student-worker's view that participates in the technical courses subsequent to High School of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amapá / IFAP – Campus in Santana. As methodology, the qualitative research based on dialectical historical materialism and the data treated by the procedures of analysis of contents. The analyses of interview were divided into three parts, perspective of admission in the course; determinant variables for evasion; permanence of the student-worker of the IFAP / STN and post-course conclusion expectation and perception. The most cited variables that are present in our research are the cause of permanence and evasion of the student-worker, they are job; family; school infra-structure; acquaintance; pedagogical practice and internship.
