This essay has as its theme the challenge of education as a conversation in the time of the forgetfulness of the truth. Among the philosophical issues with a strong presence in education, the one that deals with truth is perhaps the most thought-provoking and challenging. Especially today, when the entry into the post-truth and post-phatic era is being announced, this question is indispensable for the comprehension and for the realization of the formative processes. The essay is organized in three moments: Initially, we will make some considerations about the problem of education in the post-truth and post-phatic era; then, we will deal with conversation from the Rorty’s philosophical perspective; Finally, we will address the possible relationship between education and conversation as a way of addressing the problem of truth and the notion of “redescription” as a broad way of understanding the truth.
