Abstract

The nursery is a privileged space for child development and involves questions about mother-baby separation. The nursery teacher lives some conflicts about the maternal function in the work. We developed an integrative review of the literature between 2002 and 2016 to present the contribution of psychoanalytic concepts to define the role of the nursery teacher. This paper analyzed fourteen publications to answer the questions Most of the studies analyzed emphasized the importance of early childhood in the constitution of the psychic apparatus. The nursery teacher is a mediator in the baby’s psychic constitution, inserting the child into the language through maternal function and paternal function.
