Abstract

This research analyzed the types of school-family relations outlined by the documents of the policy for Basic Education from the Lei de Diretrizes e Bases no. 9.394/96. The methodological approach was based on Foucault's archaeological analysis, which seeks depth, recognizes the positions and functions that the subjects occupy and seeks to define the units, series and sets of relations present in the documents. The results point out the business movement as one of the actors that are influencing the elaboration of the documents and, in this way, they bring the values from a perspective of commodification to the processes of education and school-family relations. A relation that mobilizes families to participate in improving the quality of education. However, quality is measured by performance on standardized tests, thus, it is up to families to monitor the management of measurable performances.
