Abstract

SCAPIN, Gislei José  and  FERREIRA, Liliana Soares. The pandemic and the structural crisis of capital: implications for teachers’ work. Educação. Porto Alegre [online]. 2023, vol.46, n.1, e-43680.  Epub Nov 10, 2023. ISSN 1981-2582.  https://doi.org/10.15448/1981-2582.2023.1.43680.

The current text thematizes, contextualizes and problematizes the situation of teachers’ work – understood as pedagogical – in the context of the pandemic crisis, situated in the context of capitalist crisis and restructuring of the world of work. Of a theoretical-descriptive nature, it presents elements for the appropriation of the theme, organized in different but interconnected moments, namely: the concept of “crisis” is understood in its generic form; the pandemic crisis is placed at the center of the capitalist crisis, as one of its expressions, denaturalizing the causes of the phenomena; and, finally, the restructuring of the world of work, aggravated by the circumstances of the pandemic, is presented and the work of teachers at this juncture is discussed, with an emphasis on problematizing the implications in its pedagogical dimension.

Keywords : work; pedagogical; teachers; crisis; Covid-19.
