This paper shows men and women rates and representations in arithmetic textbooks in France during the 19th century. Textbooks were written for teachers and pupils of primary schools. At this time, the primary was building. Results exhibit overrepresented men comparing women. Women are showed in stereotypical activities: rather women in family and men working.
