Abstract

ARAUJO, Osmar Hélio Alves; FORTUNATO, Ivan  and  CASTRO, Francisco Mirtiel Frankson Moura. (In)visible dilemmas of teaching education in pre-service teaching courses. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.65, pp.509-527.  Epub July 27, 2020. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.20.065.ds01.

This paper deals with some (in)visible dilemmas of teaching education in pre-service undergraduate courses, such as: low adhesion of students and graduates to the teaching career; educating for teaching in pre-service courses conceived and carried out often as a secondary activity; and, finally, the initial teaching education in pre-service courses often centered on “individual” teaching action instead of a collective work context. Through a dialogical examination, our objective is to problematize the character of pre-service teaching courses as spaces for teacher education. In the end, it is concluded that teaching education requires a phase of mobilization of students for both pre-service training and the teaching profession.
