This paper aims to analyze the existence of the perspective of work as an educational principle within the integrated curriculum of the Integrated Technical Course in Chemistry offered by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goiás at the Anápolis Campus. Methodologically, based on Lüdke and André (1986), a quantitative and qualitative documental study was conducted whose corpus consisted of the Institutional Development Plan, the Pedagogical Project of the Course, and 50 Annual Teaching Plans. Anchored in authors who defend Professional Education Integrated to High School, we sought to understand how the perspective of omnilateral formation and work as an educational principle was presented in the documents. It revealed that the academic training of the professors working in this course, being centered on specific knowledge, ends up directing a teaching proposal still based on theoretical knowledge, emphasizing scientific knowledge to the detriment of practice and a broader vision of man. The conclusion points out that the student-future-worker ultimately has a content-based education, which dichotomizes theory and practice, a factor that overshadows the understanding of the contradictions present in the world of work.
