This article presents the organization of Malba Tahan's personal archive. Initially, it analyzes the relationships between the criteria for arranging documents, the history of the institution of custody and the biography of the holder. Then, Malba Tahan's conception of mathematic and its place in the history of mathematics education are examined. The result is a reflection on the implications of organizing this archive for research and discussion of mathematics education today.
