SILVA, Anna Líssia da  and  HADDAD, Lenira. “Why is your 'little notebook' full of writings?”: research with children, methodologies and child participation. Rev. Diálogo Educ. This article is inserted in the context of a doctoral thesis, whose objective was to map the production of research with children about their sayings on issues related to the field of differences. In the thesis, 323 studies were mapped within the field of differences carried out in Early Childhood Education contexts. Among them, 14 studies were selected that were called research with children. In this article, the researchers' discourses on research with children, methodologies and ethical issues involving children's participation are analyzed. The multiple ways and gestures of being present in the research that the children undertook in an active and creative movement are also highlighted. The contribution of the analyzed productions indicates that the researches that make room for an active participation of children, with the construction of more democratic and sensitive spaces for children's voices, produce knowledge that makes it possible to rethink the ways of producing knowledge about children's lives and their forms. of being and being in the world.
