Law No. 13,415, published in February 2017 (Brasil, 2017), promoted radical changes to the proposal for the National Education Guidelines and Bases Law (LDB/1996) and gave a new organization to Brazilian High School. The reform proposal was based on the justification that the way in which Secondary Education was organized was of low quality and did not dialogue with youth, the productive sector, nor the demands of the 21st century and this caused high dropout rates and of disapproval. The central proposals of the new legislation revolve around expanding study hours, reducing the number of subjects, organizing a more flexible curriculum and separating training into a part common to all students and a diverse part, in order to cover the Training Itineraries. Therefore, the objective of this article is to discuss the curricular component of “Life Project”, considered one of the guiding principles of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and as a strategy to equip students to reflect on their future goals and purposes in conjunction with the social representations of high school students. This is a qualitative bibliographic, documentary and field research study integrated with the Life Project Network studies, with the proposal that schools reflect on and discuss “Life Trajectory” with their students.
