Abstract

After the performance of this research (LIMA, 2010) I proposed to myself a practical investigation, through the research-action, with the Philosophy teachers of Regional Teaching Board of Miracema do Tocantins city, TO. That practical activity, with two year continuance, started on the second semester of 2008, in an extension program entitled: Reading and Educational Practice: experiences with Philosophy teaching, with the following goals: (i) analyzing the problematics of reading with teachers/workers in Philosophy at high schools of Regional Teaching Board of Miracema do Tocantins city, TO; (ii) apply the thematic of reading, through reading philosophical texts, and concomitantly, theoretical deepening and, (iii) appoint the value of reading experience in the educational practice and its implications in daily life. From that work I accentuate the need of continuous training since most of the teachers in the State of Tocantins act out of their areas, according to a research already made which found that the work with Philosophy is just meant for workload complementation. In contribution, the university plays an important role, especially in extension programs which have as means watching specific aspects of work in Philosophy. In our case, prioritizing the studies of philosophical texts, through which the teachers were able to notice they have issues regarding reading, although, they are willing to face possible impediments, from the subjective difficulties of comprehension to those one of the objective kind.
