In this article, an excerpt from a doctoral research already completed in the generation of data was performed for nine months in 2009 at an institution of kindergarten with children between 2 and 3 years old, seeks to problematize questions regarding the role of the researcher in establishing relationships and interactions to conduct research with young children. To approach this issue, initially, try to highlight nuances in the uses of terms that mark the theoretical and epistemological field of social studies of childhood in research with children looking critically reflect on these nuances. Then, based on field notes record seeks to discuss issues relating to the role of adult researcher to establish relationships and interactions with small children and those with him in the process of data generation. How important indication is the need to assume the role of an adult researcher who does not have the authority and power common to adults the context of research and careful not to behave in a dubious attempt at being a child. Another important indication is the definition of that role as a researcher is in need of a position first as a social person and as a professional with a distinct purpose and original, which seeks to check this position in the day-to-day with the kids.
