This article presents the results of a mapping of brazilian scientific production, referring to the Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (Enem), expressed in masters dissertations and doctoral thesis produced since its first application in 1998. This is a quantitative study with some qualitative considerations on its results. It was a bibliographic investigation, and the selection of documents, systematization of information and organization of results was done using a Document Analysis technique. In this analysis we considered the year of the productions; the areas of knowledge to which they refer and the regions of the country where they are geographically distributed and those that are related to the area of Sciences of Nature. The results indicate that the ENEM has been an important subject of investigation and the researchers are seeking for different understandings about this exam.
