This article presents results of a study that aimed to explore possible uses of results of external evaluations for the management of primary schools in five local education systems in the state of São Paulo. The research had the purpose to identify and analyse opinions of coordinators of Elementary School about the possible use of the results of external evaluations in educational work, especially in teaching coordination and performance of teachers of schools under their direction. Their opinions were collected using Likert scale questions, prepared with information about training, professional development and uses of evaluation results. The results reveal growing appreciation of the external evaluations in the development of teaching practices in municipal systems.
