Abstract

WERLE, Kelly  and  BELLOCHIO, Cláudia Ribeiro. Childhood and experience: self-narrative fragments in the study of cultures of childhood. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.56, pp.279-298.  Epub Feb 10, 2020. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.18.056.ao05.

This article focuses its discussion on the relation between childhood and experience through a theoretical approach concerning the sociology of childhood (SARMENTO, 2002; 2003; 2007; CORSARO, 2011; QVORTRUP, 2011) and the concept of experience developed by Walter Benjamin together with other of his works, such as “Infância em Berlim por volta de 1900” (1987). As a suggestion to such discussion, it is problematized some childhood self-narrative fragments linked to the research developed by Werle (2015) through which it is highlighted the picture of the narrator and the possibility of exchanging experiences (BENJAMIN, 1994c) as well as the characterization of the human experience in the childhood (BENJAMIN, 1987). In this context, the self-narrative fragments can work as a possibility for an interlocution of experiences and a potential for studies and research about the cultures of childhood.
