The objective of this work was to contrast the capacities of students of Primary and Secondary Education and professors in training, respect to digital technologies, the basis of analysis was the "Standards of learning" of the “Ministerio de Educación” of Ecuador, and the Core capacities obtained from the Ecuadorian university educational offer in the field of Education. As methodological strategy, elements of network analysis and content analysis were applied to both documents. Through the data obtained, an instrumental perspective appears in the student evaluation standards, and in the Core capacities; however, a broader and more complex approach to digital technologies is included, for the students, related to critical generic skills and digital culture; paradoxically, that subjects have a partial or null approach in the teacher training.
