OLIVEIRA, Kaio Eduardo de Jesus  e  PORTO, Cristiane de Magalhães. Technophobic Narratives in Cyberculture: Representations of Science and Technology from Black Mirror. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2019, vol.19, n.62, pp.1042-1060.  Epub 30-Jan-2020. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.19.062.ds07.

The audiovisual production of films and series, as well as having as a characteristic the entertainment, also, bring to the public, themes that can guide diverse conversations, or means that instigate, deepen and even teach on certain subjects. Thus, this text aims to discuss how the representation of science and technology is problematized by the viewers of the Black Mirror series in digital social networks. Even though the scientific diffusion is not the main focus, the series can contribute to the debate on the subject from issues involving science and, mainly, technology in some episodes. Therefore, through a qualitative research, with direct observation in Facebook and data collection with a descriptive exploratory character, this article shows that the debate about science and technology runs a sense of phobia and aversion to science and technology, from the expression of the subjectivities of the fans, in the debate articulated from the series in comments on Facebook. With this, it is concluded that although problematizing our relation with the technologies, the series Black Mirror constructs a representation of science and technology like villains of the human social practices.
