In order to contribute to the Women’s History and the History of Education in Brazil, this article aims to analyze the professional - training-performance - confrontation with authoritarian regimes relation by the doctor, professor, researcher and Brazilian Communist Party activist Naíde Regueira Teodósio (1915-2005). The investigation took place through the biographical method from Franco Ferrarotti (1991) and Giovanni Levi (1996), having as its object of analysis the formation and professional trajectory of the mentioned character. Documentary sources (medical records, statements, indemnity process for physical, psychological and moral damages) located at the bottom of the Jordão Emerenciano/ PE State Archive’s Truth Commission were used, as well as interviews granted and stored at Joaquim Nabuco Foundation’s General Coordination of Brazilian History Studies (Cehibra) and at Getúlio Vargas Foundation’s Research and Documentation Center of Brazil Contemporary History (CPDOC). The results point out that educational elements combine family, school, political and party formation and self-education. They also unveil sides of a medical training that combines physiology, nutrition and political engagement, which allow interpretations concerning oneself constitution, female practices, training-performance relation and, above all, about the concrete forms of resistance and confrontations with authoritarian political regimes in Brazil in the 1940s and 1960s.
