VERDE, Ana Paula dos Santos Reinaldo  y  MARTINS, Elcimar Simão. Historical Education: the Museum and the importance of local history in history teaching. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.69, pp.650-669.  Epub 11-Jun-2021. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.21.069.ds06.

This article deals with an account of pedagogical experience developed through the History and Heritage course, in the History course, of the National Plan for the Training of Teachers of Basic Education - Parfor / Maranhão from the visit to the Museum of Archeology, Paleontology and Ethnology, in São Luís-MA. The objective of the study was to understand the importance of museological methodology for historical education in the teaching of history based on local history. The following theoretical references were used: Barca (2011), Schmidt and Cainelli (2004), Canclini (1997), Hall (2007), Rüsen (2007), among other authors to answer the initial questions: what is the conception of indigenous culture? Museum provides visitors? What is the relationship between the history of indigenous and European culture based on museological reading? How to relate the teaching of history to museum education? The methodology consisted of bibliographic analysis on the subject, observation in loco, field notebook and semi-structured questionnaire, which was analyzed and discussed in the classroom. The subjects participating in the research were four indigenous teachers / students from Parfor. The result inferred that the visit to the Museum of Archeology, Palaeontology and Ethnology brings meaning when it is theoretically grounded and contextualized from local history and historical education. It is concluded that, as a methodological strategy, the visit to the museum, favored other readings about the origins of the Brazilian people, reflections on the historical memory and valorization of the local history, being a viable and necessary possibility for the teaching of History.
