BARREIRO, Cristhianny Bento  y  CAMPOS, Virgínia Soares de. A study on teaching requirements for teachers of Professional and Technological Education of Federal Institutes. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.71, pp.1510-1534.  Epub 26-Ene-2022. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.21.071.ds02.

The research presented here is located in the field of research in teacher training and aimed to identify how the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology, which make up the Federal Network, select teachers to work in specific technical disciplines. The article presents a brief analysis of articles produced on the theme of teacher education for Professional and Technological Education, as well as the normative framework that regulates (or not) the professionalization of these teachers. The research is documentary in nature and analyzed one hundred and forty-one edicts of teaching selection of the thirty-eight Federal Institutes. As results, it is pointed out that (i) teacher qualification is not a mandatory requirement in the teaching competitions investigated; (ii) twenty-one edicts scored the candidate for teaching to have pedagogical training or a degree, when this was not the basic requirement of endowment to the vacancy; (iii) twenty-seven edicts from twenty-one different Federal Institutes announce in some way the need/duty/recommendation that not qualified teachers seek to qualify when entering the career. It is concluded that, although it can be seen movement in the sense of valuing teacher education within the teacher of disciplines of specific technical contents, there is still a great challenge that involves recognizing knowledge derived from education as indispensable to the teacher's office.
