This article deals with the reality and challenges of schooling of foreign students in a school in the city of São Paulo. Based on the literature review, documentary research and semi-structured interviews with the management team and teachers of a school that serves international migrants, the limits of Brazilian educational public policies are discussed in guaranteeing the right to education of the migrants. The results obtained show contradictions between the practices declared by the interviewees and the school's social practices, resulting in effective difficulties for professionals in working with the cultural diversity that enter the school. It is also evident the absence of programs, projects and actions for the inclusion of migrants that guarantee the right to education.
