Resumen

This text is the result of a research that aimed to gather sources and produce a chronological and geographical mapping of the institutionalization of school education in the mesoregion Pioneer North of Paraná State. Particularly, it sought to identify in which locations and when High Schools were created in the period between 1938 and 1961. The limits refer to the year of foundation of the first school of this level in the region and the year of the promulgation of Federal Law n. 4024/61, the first LDBEN. The historical sources consulted are available in the Public Archives of the State of Paraná, in official documents from schools in the region (Political-Pedagogical Projects), and in other works that record the histories and memories of the municipalities in the region. From the point of view of historiographical production on schooling in this region, there are few studies that have mapped sources that allow the historical reconstruction of the process of institutionalization of education. As a regional study, the work assumes that local and national must be articulated in a dialectical way so that a closer knowledge of the concrete is possible in the investigative process. The research identified, in line with the educational policy of the time, a greater movement to create these schools between the 1940s and 1950s, a period marked by the expansion of the Escolanovismo ideals and in which the region was constituted as an important economic center in the North of the State of Parana.
