Abstract

AZEVEDO, Laís Paula de Medeiros Campos  and  NETA, Olívia Morais de Medeiros. 100 years of Pedagogium magazine and research in the History of Education. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.73, pp.885-913.  Epub Dec 17, 2022. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.22.073.ao02.

Produced in the context of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Pedagogium magazine of the Association of Teachers of Rio Grande do Norte, this work was built with the aim of presenting the magazine as a source and object for the History of Education. The Pedagogium was published for the first time in July 1921, with the aim of contributing to the training of teachers and strengthening the potiguar teaching profession. For this study, we adopted as sources the numbers of the magazine available at the Repository of History and Memory of Education (RHISME/UFRN) and the newspapers available at the Hemeroteca Digital Brasileira. Our theoretical contribution is constituted, especially, by the contributions of Ribeiro (2003, 2020), Certeau (1982), Zicman (1985) and Bastos (2015). We built our work from the analysis of the magazine in its three phases, seeking to understand the elements that characterized it, above all, about its materiality and the themes covered. We understand the Journal as a place of memory (NORA, 1993) and we highlight its potential for the field of History of Education, above all, due to the circulation of pedagogical ideas that it made possible and by the various intellectuals involved in the process of its construction.
