Abstract

The text presents a reflection of two personal archives from two Portuguese pedagogists, Maria Lúcia Namorado (1909-2000) and Lucinda Atalaya (1929-2009) and their use in child education and non-formal education. It is expected to analyse how different types of personal documents, saved over the years by the owners, can be used as research sources in History of Education. After a first part in which personal archives are seen form a theory point of view a description of both archives is presented, underlying obstacles and challenges. In a final part, a reflection about constraints and possibilities of using personal archives in History of Education.
