Abstract

GOBBATO, Carolina; KREMER, Claines  and  BARBOSA, Maria Carmen Silveira. Reflections on interviewing from the perspective of craftsmanship: dialogues with teachers/researchers on Early Childhood Education and Didactics. Rev. Diálogo Educ. This article presents methodological reflections focusing on interviews, a recurrent procedure in research with a qualitative approach. From a doctoral research experience about the relations between Early Childhood Education and Didactics, we discuss processes experienced in the interviews with four Brazilian professors/researchers and ten Italians who participated in the study. The work is based on Sennett's perspective (2015a) about artesania, dialoguing with theoretical-methodological understandings about interviewing as a dialogical movement of openness in a handmade making, as proposed by Mills (2009), Caramés Boada (2010) and Contreras Domingo and Lara Ferré (2010). The methodological reflections are organized in two axes: the first versifies with the power of encounter, of dialogue and the sharing of ideas and knowledge that can happen in the interview, highlighting the importance of listening in an ethical and respectful way; the second one, discourses the flexibility in the interviewing process and how much the conducted interviews feedback the next ones and, consequently, resize the directions of the investigation. It is considered that the act of interviewing, woven into a handmade doing, is an experience that can be formative for the interviewer and significant for the interviewee, because in the dialogical exercise of research there is an exchange of ideas and knowledge that promote resignifications. When interviewing teachers/researchers of Early Childhood Education and Didactics, the positions occupied by the research participants and their different points of view are evidenced, putting on the agenda a theme that has been made invisible, moving thoughts and promoting dialogue.
